Calamigos Equestrian Wedding: Josie + Dan

What’s not to love about Josie + Dan’s Calamigos Equestrian wedding?!?!

They are a super awesome couple and, in addition to being absolutely adorable together, they really let their personalities shine through in their wedding day, which we love!

When couples first contact us, we send them a short questionnaire to get a little more information about their wedding day just because we like to get ourselves up to speed on what they are planning for their wedding. Here’s a little bit of what Josie sent us:

“Dan and I couldn’t be more different or LOOK more different from each other. I’m a short 5’2″, first generation Chinese American…and he’s a tall 6’2″ Irish American. Our wedding will reflect those differences and also highlight things that we both love. We both work in film and LOVE movies… so we want a cake topper of a bride n’ groom holding guns.”

When a bride is talking cake toppers with guns right out of the gate, you know that you need not question their “commitment to sparkle motion” (you get major Marianne + Joe bonus points if you know that reference). We were excited to shoot this wedding and to see how they expressed their differences and similarities in their wedding. They certainly didn’t disappoint! We could see little touches of “them” throughout the day and we loved them all. But, we have to say that our favorite was the A-Team style video that they aired right before their grand entrance to the reception. To be honest, we were a little bummed that we were only able to catch little bits of it (since we were shooting people’s responses/reactions while they watched it), but the little bits that we did get to see were fantastic! :)

Maravilla Gardens Wedding : Lisa + Bobby

This blog post is a double whammy of fun because it comes with a game! Read on to find out more… (BAM! Foreshadowing like a champ!)

Now, we know what you are thinking: “Marianne and Joe, you are always talking about how your couples are awesome. I’ll bet you are going to talk about how Lisa + Bobby are really great too. But, are Lisa and Bobby really as radfantasticalness as you are saying?” To which we reply: “Ohhhhh, ye of little faith! Lisa + Bobby and our other couples ARE the epitome of radness.” We support our statement thusly:

Lisa + Bobby are equal parts sweet, adorable, fun, and hilarious and their wedding fit them perfectly. For sweetness, you need look no further than when Lisa walked down the aisle with her dad. Just before they walked down the aisle, you could see the gravity of the moment hit both Lisa and her dad. It was touching. Then, they hugged… no… hugged is the wrong word. Lisa and her dad embraced each other at the end of the aisle as her dad gave her away to Bobby… so, so, SO sweet.

We could point to just about any part of Lisa and Bobby’s wedding for adoreableness and fun, but our favorite thing would have to be the unity pizza ceremony. Yes, you read that right, the unity pizza ceremony. Lisa + Bobby love pizza and it was their first meal after Bobby proposed, so instead of doing a sand ceremony or candles, Lisa and Bobby decided to share some pizza (with toppings representing Lisa on one half and toppings representing Bobby on the other half) as their symbol of unity. A-dore-able.

Now for the game! To illustrate the hilarious aspect of Lisa + Bobby’s wedding, see if you can spot the three photos where someone (not us) unexpectedly and accidentally dropped an f-bomb in what was probably the most hilarious moment of our wedding season. :)

Malibu Hills Engagement Session: Josie + Daniel

Today is Josie + Daniel’s wedding day! So, we thought that it is only appropriate that we should put their engagement shoot up on the blog!

These two are such a fun and sweet couple and we are so excited to photograph their wedding today! Now, we are off to finish preparing our gear for an epic day at Calamigos Equestrian in Burbank!
