Katherine and Grant are SUPER fun people (you may have seen their insanely cool engagement session where Katherine wore a rockin purple tutu and red heels). So, it’s no surprise that their wedding was equally fun and unique. Katherine turned tradition on it’s head and opted for a gorgeous yellow gown and Grant rocked a metallic blue suit while their guests all wore white. When we were also asked to wear white, we double (and triple) checked with Katherine and her coordinator, Carole Grogan of Bright Blue Events, that we were understanding them correctly. Not knowing about Katherine and Grant’s choices of attire, even after we were assured that yes, we were supposed to wear white, we still felt like we were on an episode of punked and were about to become a youtube “you’re doing it wrong” sensation, so we also brought our usual shooting clothes.

Once we saw Katherine’s dress we realized that 1) we have some serious trust issues, and 2) this was going to be a really cool wedding.

Having everyone else wear white made for a gorgeous ceremony and really made them stand out as the colorful and fun people they are. The details were equally cool. Complete with lips and mustaches on sticks, a wedding cake that was a rainbow inside, and giant rainbow dream catcher. Katherine and Grant are both in the spotlight on a regular basis so they kept the wedding to very close friends and family and it was an absolutely rad celebration.

You may notice we shoot at this gorgeous venue, Maravilla Gardens, quite often. We seriously feel like it is our second home during wedding season, in the best way! We love that we know the MG crew and that we are so familiar with the grounds. It really lets us get gorgeous shots and have time to also get creative and make the images that truly tell the story of our couples days. Super cool! We seriously cannot get over how amazing our couples were in 2013! Kristin and Zac, of course, were no exception. They are sweet as sugar and Kristin has the prettiest smile ever! Their day was calm and smooth sailing and here are the photos to show for it:

Erica + Jude’s wedding was like a quadruple whammy of some of our favorite things. We got to travel out to Arizona (where Marianne is originally from) which meant that we got to take a couple of days to visit with family. They also had a very intimate wedding at a house at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa with only a handful of their nearest and dearest in attendance. Erica + Jude were a super sweet couple who were cool as the other side of a cucumber on ice skates’ pillow all day.

And. They. All. Lit. Flying. LANTERNS!!!

It was a good time. :)

We know. We know. We talk about how awesome our couples are all the time. But seriously, if you knew them, you would totally understand how stoked we are that we get to work with them!

With that said, we are sure that you will not be surprised to hear that Hannah and Kent are pretty much the nicest people you will ever meet. They just ooze niceness and sweetness (ooze is probably not the right word… whatever. They overflow with niceness!) It is the same with their friends and family. They are a group of people who are sweet to their core. So, it’s no wonder that their wedding was such a joyful celebration of their love for each other, their families, and their faith. It was so beautiful to see how they paid tribute to their new life together and the influence their parents had on them.
